Paradise for sport fans and recreation seekers
A wide range of sport is available in winter and summer on both sides of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, including skiing, snowboarding, sledging, summer roller-sledge run, hiking from easy to energetic, mountain tours and mountain biking.
Those seeking more adventurous pursuits will find plenty of choice in the area, including canyoning, parachuting from a helicopter, paragliding, a high-level rope park and fixed-rope routes etc.
The Lauterbrunnen Valley is also called the “Valley of 72 Waterfalls”. The famous Staubbach Falls and the Trümmelbach Falls, which cascades down inside the mountain, are both well worth a visit.
During the year, animal lovers can watch wildlife native to the region such as ibex, chamois and marmots. The animals stay mainly up on the mountain slopes or rocky crags but many come down into the valley in spring.
Lake Thun and Lake Brienz are about 15 km away.
